Applying the Mediterranean Skincare Diet to your Life

I have a major sweet tooth; I mean honestly, don’t we all? It can be hard to balance healthy eating while still satisfying my cravings and enjoying life. However, as I began to cut down on the amount of processed food I was consuming and instead focus more on fresh, whole foods, the surprising yet exciting effect was on my skin.

I have been lucky to never have many skin concerns, really only having the typical teenage acne on occasion. Despite that, once I changed up my eating a bit, the brightest, most radiant skin emerged. Yardè’s products put your skin on a “Mediterranean Skincare Diet,” so, why not put yourself on this diet as well?

The Mayo Clinic defines the Mediterranean Diet as, “a way of eating that's based on the traditional cuisines of Greece, Italy and other countries that border the Mediterranean Sea. Plant-based foods, such as whole grains, vegetables, legumes, fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices, are the foundation of the diet. Olive oil is the main source of added fat.”

Additionally, in Harvard’s Diet Review: Mediterranean Diet, it is stated that, “Research supports the use of the Mediterranean diet as a healthy eating pattern for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, increasing lifespan, and healthy aging. When used in conjunction with caloric restriction, the diet may also support healthy weight loss.”

How can you live the Mediterranean way? Start simple: build your meals around vegetables, incorporate olive oil instead of butter into your cooking, swap sugary treats for fruit and maintain an active lifestyle.

Olive oil, almonds, avocados, pomegranates, dates and more are just some of the fresh, sustainable ingredients Yardè sources. It is no coincidence that many of the ingredients featured in Yardè’s products come from food; not just food, nutritious, nourishing food. Treat your body the same way you treat your skin: with nourishment. Apply the Mediterranean Skincare Diet to your life…the benefits will be endless.
